Well finally the good old days of the Ringgit giving the Sing Dollar great spending mileage is over. At last look, S$1 was only getting MYR2.89 as opposed to late 2015 giving us MYR3.06.
I should not be complaining as even with today's exchange rate, my retirement Sing dollars are giving my family greater purchasing power than when we first relocated to Malaysia. I believe we bought our present home at exchange rate of S$1 getting only MYR2.45!
Whatever the rate, I am seeing Tuas and Woodlands crossing into Malaysia getting more and more jammed up as more Singaporeans move to JB when their homes TOP here. And of course with more and more people from Singapore flocking into JB to enjoy the extended purchasing power of the Sing dollar.
